Balancing the self and collective interests within an innovation ecosystem
Canberra is comprised of an ecology of organisations engaged in, and supporting, entrepreneurial innovation and success; however, like in any ecology, there is tension between self-interest and collective interests.
Dr. Paul Atkins teaches organisational and behavioural psychology at the School of Psychology, Australian Catholic University. He is a registered psychologist with a PhD in Psychology from Cambridge University and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Positive Psychology (ACU).
In this talk, Dr. Paul Atkins will facilitate a group exploration of the dynamics of the self and collective interests, and a new approach to resolving this problem known as Prosocial which makes use of Elinor Ostrom's Nobel prize-winning work on the commons and the principles of effective behaviour change.
