The National Press Club is effectively ‘Ground Zero’ for Canberra’s political nerds. From 11.00am Wednesday, why not nestle in to one of their comfy couches and watch the results roll in.

Grab a snack and a glass of wine as Antony Green hits overdrive to guide us through the Electoral College and the eventual result.

Remembrance Day

Australian War Memorial

This year 11 November marks the 98th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

The Remembrance Day National Ceremony includes a formal wreathlaying and will be attended by many high-level dignitaries, diplomats, and students from each state and territory representing the youth of Australia. Australia’s Federation Guard and the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon will be on parade.

The coolest little capital has its time to shine as the best tourism products take to the stage in recognition of everything that makes Canberra great. From small business through to world class facilities, the winners will go through to the National Awards to be held in Darwin next February.
