National Convention Centre Canberra launches new website
After picking up a string of awards for excellence—in sustainable tourism, best meeting and events venue and best restaurant cookery employee—the National Convention Centre Canberra has achieved another major milestone—a complete overhaul of its website, making it a state-of-the-art platform for attracting business to the capital.
Stephen Wood, General Manager, says the new site is designed to help it compete in the lucrative conference and events market, with bringing business to Canberra a major focus. "The look and feel of the website truly represents who we are and what Canberra has become, an exciting, vibrant destination full of colour and opportunity," says Stephen.
The new site links directly with the online presence of other important Canberra partners, such as the Canberra Convention Bureau and Visit Canberra.
The functionality of the new site makes it attractive for business, with users easily able to plan an event online and make event enquiries online.
The site also celebrates all that is Canberra with stunning photos of the capital’s respected national institutions, natural surrounds, events, festivals and more. The ‘What’s on’ section provides information for conference goers on how to enjoy the capital after hours—encouraging business to do business in Canberra through hospitality and retail.
Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the National Convention Centre has been operating in the Canberra market for 26 years. Last December, IHG won the ‘Qantas Award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism’. In July they picked up two top awards—Best Restaurant Cookery Employee and Best Meeting and Events Venue (both General Division) at the AHA ACT Hospitality Awards.
The National Convention Centre is the capital’s largest, purpose-built conference, meeting and events venue, with more than 15 flexible spaces over two floors. It’s unrivalled in facilities, size and scope.
