It’s that time of year again! Nominations for the 2017 Canberra Region Tourism Awards are open to all businesses and suppliers to the tourism industry.

Are you wondering what the benefits of being involved are? At last Tuesday’s launch, the ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr reinforced the many opportunities the annual Canberra Region Tourism Awards provide.

Importantly, this is an opportunity to showcase the best of our region’s tourism operators as well as promote, encourage and reward tourism excellence.

If you’re considering entry, the awards are open to all tourism businesses and suppliers to the tourism industry and serve to demonstrate the value of tourism to Canberra and the region.

ACT winners of categories 1 – 25 will progress as finalists in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Categories 26 – 32 are our local categories and include the newly introduced Canberra Region Local Government Award for Tourism. Winners of these do not progress as national finalists. The full list of categories and questions can be viewed here.

Support is again available to all entrants and includes workshops, mentoring, judge brainstorm sessions, submission review service and the introduction of handbooks (available soon). You are encouraged to get in touch and utilise the support offered that may be useful! There are more details here. Workshop dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
