After another week of turmoil, Brumbies CEO, Michael Jones, has been stood down by the board of the ACT Rugby Union.

Jones, who arrived in Canberra at the start of the 2015 season made a huge impact on The Brumbies’ organisation, and his efforts were not always well received by those within the club, nor partner organisations who worked with The Brumbies.

The Brumbies’ 2016 season started with a chance they could be without a stadium, while more than one lawsuit threatened against Jones and the club had a disappointing membership around 6,500.

Regardless, Jones continued to maintain that the club was in a better financial footing and could be one of the few Australian Super Rugby franchises to achieve profitability.

Australian Rugby Union CEO, Bill Pulver, flew to Canberra today to meet with the Board as he works to maintain a grip on the domestic competition. The Queensland Reds have also sacked their coach, and both The Reds and the NSW Waratahs are transitioning their own CEOs.

It is understood Pulver delivered the news to Jones along with the board around 7.00pm on Monday night. The Brumbies are yet to release a statement.
