Nike Hyperadapt (a.k.a. the Back to the Future shoe) is here. For around AU $1,000 and a trip to New York, you can get a taste of the future for yourself.

Early reports are in. According to Business Insider, the shoes take about ten seconds to self-lace, and almost as long to remove. The battery – when fully charged via a wireless puck – is good for about two week (depending on use).

For early adopters and sneaker freaks, this is a no-brainer. For the rest of us, it might be worth waiting for a version that works a lot faster and provides more functionality.

You know… just like the Apple Watch.
