The Kingston Arts Precinct will be the jewel in the crown of the Kingston Foreshore development, thanks to the vision of local Canberra business GEOCON, which has today been announced by the ACT Government as the preferred tenderer to deliver the project. 

 

 

“As MONA has done for Hobart, so will the Kingston Arts Precinct do for Canberra: create a cultural space of international renown and a beacon for artistic endeavour across the world,” GEOCON Managing Director Nick Georgalis said. 

“GEOCON is thrilled and humbled to be awarded the privilege of breathing new life into this iconic location and, together with the ACT Government, creating a fitting gateway to the increasingly dynamic Kingston Foreshore, in the next chapter of its evolution. 

 

 

“We are excited about working with the ACT Government and the people of Canberra to create a destination where art and culture thrive and which will accompany icons like the Australian War Memorial and the Australian National Gallery as must-see destinations in Canberra.” 

GEOCON has again partnered with world-renowned Fender Katsalidis Architects and OCULUS urban designers to bring world-leading design to Canberra. This team will also be responsible for delivering the recently-announced “Republic” precinct on Section 200 in Belconnen.
