Queensland financial advisers finalists in premium awards
Queensland-based financial advisers PJ Byrne and Declan Doolan from Mr Insurance have both been recognised as outstanding advisers by the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) at its 2015 National Adviser Conference in Cairns.
Mr Byrne was a finalist in the AFA’s Adviser of the Year Award for the second year running while Mr Doolan is one of the youngest ever finalists in the AFA’s Rising Star Award.
The AFA Adviser of the Year Award is the highest honour the AFA bestows upon advisers, with each contender assessed in areas such as client service, technical excellence, robustness of the advice process, personal adviser qualities, industry contribution and commitment to improving the financial literacy of their clients and their communities.
Mr Byrne said it is an honour to be considered one of the best for the second year in a row for such a prestigious award.
“After joining the family business in 2000, I have personally managed more than $10 million of life and income protection claims for our clients, so I know how much of a difference our advice can make to families and business. It is a privilege to know that we can help people when they need it most,” he said.
The AFA Rising Star Award recognizes emerging talent within the financial advice profession. Nominees have three or less years experience as advisers and are assessed on their ability to provide quality financial advice, demonstrate a commitment to education and make a valuable contribution to their profession and their community.
Mr Doolan said that he is extremely flattered to have been a finalist for such an esteemed award so early in his career.
“Having grown up watching my parents run their own advice practice in Rockhampton, I am proud to be a part of such an amazing industry which allows advisers to have such an important role in clients’ lives. The claims that we facilitate from our office everyday are a very real reminder of this fact. I hope the recognition also gives our clients the added confidence that they are dealing with recognised professionals,” said Mr Doolan.
Mr Doolan was last year awarded the National Rising Star Award from Millennium 3.
