Promoting the China-Australia FTA
Parliamentary Secretary Steven Ciobo MP is visiting China to promote the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
Mr Ciobo will meet with political and business leaders to re-affirm the Australian Government’s commitment to the landmark agreement during his visit to the Guangdong Province.
“While Bill Shorten and the Labor Party are being economic vandals by threatening to vote against the FTA, the Australian Government is doing everything we can to ensure it comes into force so Australia reaps the rewards,” said Mr Ciobo.
“I’ll be meeting with key Chinese investors to reiterate the message that Australia remains open for business, and that we are fully committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the China-Australia FTA.
“The Australian Government and business community stand strongly behind the China-Australia FTA. It’s the single largest trade deal we’ve ever achieved and will create thousands of jobs for Australians.
“The China-Australia FTA holds tremendous economic promise for both our countries and will unlock substantial new benefits for years to come.”
Mr Ciobo will co-host business seminars to promote the benefits of investing in Australia.
“As we continue efforts to see the China-Australia FTA come into force by the end of this year, it is important for businesses in both countries to fully grasp the enormous potential of this historic agreement,” he said.
