With Melbourne Cup only days away, and the summer season pretty much upon us, men’s style is stepping into the spotlight. The problem for many blokes is simply knowing where to start.

The answer is Men Inc. at QT Canberra.

For the next ten weeks – as part of QT Canberra’s 100 Days of Summer – those looking to relax and learn a little about the finer art of being a man can do so in the perfect environment: Lucky’s!

So, what’s the deal?

From 5.00pm on Thursdays, cruise on down to the award-winning boozer and enjoy a specially-crafted Chivas Regal Old Fashioned and take part in an evening for those looking to learn about the finer things in life.

The Barber Shop's Craig Meggs

The big launch of Men Inc. is this Thursday, 29 October. As well as Lucky’s delicious drinks, gents can take a seat in The Barber’s Shop with QT’s Craig Meggs offering touch-ups for hair and beards until 9.30pm.

As part of the exciting launch this Thursday, QT Canberra and Lucky’s are also getting behind Movember. As most are aware, this is an annual fundraiser that aims to increase awareness of men’s health issues as well as collect money for research into the diseases.

As the night moves on, Josh Smith-Thirkell – Sous Chef in QT’s Capitol Bar & Grill –  will be taking to the barber’s chair in the middle of Lucky’s to have his beard shaved in preparation for Movember. Given the size of his beard (and the fact that his girlfriend has never seen him without one), we thought he must be a little apprehensive about the celebrity shave.

“Yeah, It’s going to be weird, but it’s all for a good cause,” Josh observed (while stroking his facial hair). “In the kitchen there are a lot of egos – mine included. But I reckon that if I can shave my beard and expose my face beneath it, then there’s no reason for other blokes to hide – especially when it comes to addressing potential health issues. I mean, nothing’s worth dying for.”

It’s hard to argue with that, Josh!

So, lots of good things happening for Men Inc in Lucky’s this Thursday. Keep an eye on Lucky’s Facebook page for details of weekly events including boy's toys and a special James Bond-themed night to celebrate the release of the lasted spy thriller.
