Cookout event for Women in Hospitality
Australia’s empowering not-for-profit Women in Hospitality (WOHO) has announced an exciting Autumn Cookout in collaboration with PorkStar.
The Autumn Cookout will be held at Porteño Events in Surry Hills, with an all-female line-up of leading chefs, butchers, farmers, brewers and distillers exploring the versatility of Australian pork.
Event-goers can expect a menu championing pig, including a fiery medieval barbecue from Alex Herbert (Bird Cow Fish) and Claire van Vuuren (Popla Bellingen & Bloodwood); artisan pork sausage from Chrissy Flanagan (Chrissy's Cuts & The Sausage Factory); charcuterie from Jacqui Challinor (Nomad); and plates from Julianne Lever (Julianne's Kitchen). The pork affair flows straight through to dessert with sweet creations from Alanna Sapwell (Saint Peter).
Sam Fuss from Marrickville’s Philter brewery and Kathleen Davies from Australian craft spirit distributor Nip of Courage will be slinging drinks from a female-only cast of brewers and distillers, accompanied by live tunes and butcher tips on nose-to-tail cooking for those that want to delve deeper.
WOHO is a not-for-profit organisation supporting women in every facet of the hospitality industry – restaurateurs, chefs, waiters, sommeliers and business managers – in all stages of their careers.
The Autumn Cookout will be held at Porteno Events, Surry Hills, from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday 18 March. Ticket info here.
