There’s little chance of rates being lowered today – the consumer reaction would be far too cynical given the recent actions of the Big Four banks as they move their rates upwards while declaring record-breaking profits.

With successive cuts having less and less impact on the economy, we think that the change of government - along with real economic reform and the bringing-forward of large-scale infrastructure spending is probably the best way to circulate cash through the economy.
